Book Review: The Knocked Up Plan by Lauren Blakely

OMG guys. The feelings in this book. UGH! Lauren Blakely does it again with her latest release The Knocked Up Plan. This swoon-worthy friends-to-lovers will leave you grinning throughout the book till the very end. Lauren Blakely is a phenomenal writer and she has always been one of my favorite. I love all of her works and she never disappoints. So it is no surprise that I loved Nicole and Ryder’s story just as much.

This woman is everything I want, and everything I don’t want to lose again.

Nicole knows what she wants and it’s not love. Believed that her time to find her one true love is gone at her age 30, she decides to move on with her life. Sperm donors are great and although you get to know about what they did and their life achievements, Nicole wants to know how her baby will look. And the one man that has the perfect DNA is Ryder Lockheart.

“He’s gorgeous. Just the other day I found myself cataloging his features. He really does have it going on. Plus, he’s smart and funny and good to animals.”
Penny hums mournfully. “Too bad he’s not a donor.”
“Ha. Yeah, it’s a bummer he hasn’t made a deposit at this sperm bank.” I tap the screen. “I’d order up one serving ASAP. Get that turkey baster inside me stat,” I bark as if I’d be saying that to the nurses while I tell them to shoot me up with Ryder Lockhart’s DNA.
Ryder Lockhart’s DNA.
The clouds part. The sun rises. The bells ring. Never have three words sounded more like a perfect solution to a problem.

Burned by love, Ryder is now a commitment-phobe and on the verge of losing his job. So when his hot as sin co-worker offers him no strings attached sex, he accepts can’t refuse.

As of every Lauren Blakely book, The Knocked Up Plan had me laughing, swooning and my heart melting every other page. I seriously loved both the characters to death in this book. Smart and witty, Nicole is a confident and sweet woman who knows what she wants and isn’t afraid to go for it. I loved how brave and independent she is.
Ryder, on the other hand, is considerate, affordable and so freaking sexy! With him being so afraid of commitment, you’d think Ryder is cocky and arrogant. But as the story progresses you see this vulnerable side to him that just makes your heart pound harder. We get to see this considerate and thoughtful man you can’t help but fall for. He’s going to melt your heart…along with your panties. But when they are together? Expect hilarious banter and effortless sense of humor coupled with scorching hot sex!

We were supposed to be practical. A wham, bam, thank-you ma’am. We weren’t supposed to miss the sex, or the closeness, or the cuddling when this ends.

I don’t know what to say about this book other than it was perfect. If I didn’t already love Lauren Blakeley, this book would’ve sealed the deal. The best part about this book though? Watching Ryder and Nicole fall in love. OMG! Feelings overload! I loved getting to witness the gradual growth of their feelings for each other. It wasn’t sudden, it wasn’t out of the blue. Ugh, the feelings, the emotions! I feel like this book is the best of both worlds, The Knocked Up Plan is not hot and sweet. It has that intimacy of a real life romance. It’s beautiful. As I said, this book is perfect!

I want to take a snapshot of this moment. I want to record every second of this strange and joyous connection I feel with her and the life growing inside her.
The doctor leaves us alone, and I bend my face to her belly and press the gentlest kiss to her skin. “Hi, baby,” I say, and I know, I fucking know, that I’m already in love with my child.

So, if you are looking for something that is seriously romantic and extremely hot, then look no further. The Knocked Up Plan is what you’re looking for. It will make your heart soar and give you butterflies in your stomach. It will make you fall in love with the characters as they fall in love with each other. I love, love loved this book and it’s definitely going on my “Best Books Read in 2017”!

If you have read this book, I would love you know what you thought of it!

And that’s how you love a woman. With your whole heart.

 5/5 stars.
