Fifteen years ago, I saw him
Seven years ago, I begged him.
Locked in a twisted game of friends, I gave Theo Von Bremen everything.
We were reckless.
We were dangerous.
We were crazy in love.
Until he came along.
Cade breathed fire into my soul, forever changing my direction
He was my salvation.
I was his redemption.
He became my mission.
I became his Commander.
But where does that leave Theo?
Exactly where I want him.
On his knees.
Commander in Briefs is the first novel by Kristy Marie is truly a one of a kind story.
Theo and Anniston have been best friends for as long as they can remember. Having said that, their feelings for one another haven’t always been platonic.
When the time comes for Theo to move away, Anniston only wants one thing. For him to take her virginity. After a lot of hesitation, Theo finally agrees, only to be his asshole-self afterward. He leaves for one of his whores, stating that Theo and Anniston are ‘just friends’.
Completely shattered, Anniston decides to pay him back for his mistake. Which leaves Theo miserable.
Years passed and now they are in a weird/very complicated relationship while still harboring intense feelings.
That’s when Anniston finds Cade and saves his life. Now with Cade, and other hot military men, being such a big part of Anniston’s life, Theo finds the need to show Anniston actually who she belongs to.
I will be frankly honest and say that this book is not for everyone. This is real and raw, and the book portrays characters that make mistakes and fucks up. When I say it is a one of a kind story, I truly mean it.
I personally loved the authors writing and I would voluntarily pick up her following novels. She really has a talent when it comes to her words and I found the book quite enjoying to read.
When it came to the characters, I will admit I definitely had favorites.
I loved Anniston’s badass and no-nonsense attitude, along with her confidence. She really doesn’t take shit from anyone, but she has a heart made of gold. I just love her! (One of my favorites)
I’ll rip off the Band-Aid by saying that Theo is a real asshole. And he is an asshole throughout the book. But that’s what makes him Theo. Having said that, his deep love for his best friend cannot be mistaken or denied.
Cade, on the other hand? He is definitely my favorite out of the three. There is just something about a broken, selfless man like Cade that just steals my heart right from the start. Cade stole mine in chapter 2!
Given that you have no certain rule about how a romance novel should be, you are going to love this book. I really enjoyed it and I am looking forward to more of what Kristy Marie has for us!
