There is no shame in pleasure. And no love in business.
I have a blind date tonight, and I know with 100% certainty that I’m getting lucky. There shouldn’t be any surprises, not for one as jaded as me, but when I walk into the penthouse suite of L’Etoile, everything changes.
1) For one thing, Bea is heartstoppingly gorgeous. Pale green eyes and endless freckles. Curves I want to spend all night exploring, as if her body was made for me.
2) Her innocence makes me want to use my entire inventory of bedroom tricks on her and then invent a few more.
3) Except that… she’s a virgin.
I can initiate her into the world of desire without letting her get attached, can’t I? A few hours of tutoring, and at the end of the night a small fortune will be deposited into my bank account.
Yes, you read that right. There are many words for what I do. After all, mine is the oldest profession. I’m an escort, which means this date is nothing more than a mutually enjoyable transaction.
But once I realize one night with her won’t be enough, I’m the one who’s screwed.
Escort is a sweet and beautiful romance between two broken souls.
This is the first book that I have read of Skye Warren and you can bet that I will be picking up more of her work soon. She just has a way with words, and her characters in Escort stole my heart within a few chapters.
Apart from being sweet and extremely beautiful, Escort has a storyline like no other. The blurb doesn’t give much away, but what little I got from with along with the title of the book itself, I was beyond intrigued.
But I soon found out that this book is just way more than just any other romance novel. It completely blew me away! I have to say, the direction the story progressed surprised me and I loved it.
Hugo is hiding behind his secrets, shame, and anger, while Bea finds it hard to live a life outside the 4 walls surrounding her. They both faced tragedies that shaped them into who they are. Both from very different backgrounds and circumstances. But both of them were so in tuned to one another. Right off the bat, the chemistry between them sizzled. And the further the book progresses, the more intense their connection becomes.
There is another aspect of this book that I am so appreciative of. And that is the character development of the two. My goodness, I could hug the author for it if I could. The way the characters grew, and the way they changed to choose love out of everything was just amazing!
Speaking of the author, the writing was truly insanely amazing. And the fact that the whole story was said from Hugo’s point of view, just added so much to the story and the character himself.
Truly amazing and a very satisfying read!
